Abstract

The experimental studies and analytical calculations on determining the mass of solidified skin and its thickness at the exit from the mold during casting steel 3сп with and without electromagnetic stirring in the mold are performed. It is established that electromagnetic stirring can significantly increase the mass of solidified metal, what improves the speed of continuous casting in 10-15%.
