    Short biography

Soviet physicist-chemist, corresponding member of Academy of Science of USSR (since 1970). Graduated from Ural politecnic institute in Sverdlovsk (1938). The main research works are devoted to development of physic-chemical problems of metallurgical processes. In 1954 created the bases of theory of high-temperature reduction and in 1957 discovered a step character of silica reduction. Investigated connection of physical properties of solid and liquid alloys and compounds with variable composition and short range ordering structure. In 1973 developed a statistic-thermodynamic theory of liquid alloys with strong interpartial interaction. Studied thermophysical characteristics of transitional metals and alloys on their basis and also parameters describing hydrogen behaviour in them (1979). Investigated and generalized data on nuclear and electronic structure of borides, carbides, nitrides, silicides and hydrides of transitional metals (1984.)
